Even in WWE 2K25, 90% of the game mechanics are the same as WWE 2K22, 2K23, and 2K24, with very minor changes and some new settings in WWE 2K25.
We can see the graphic improvements a lot, and it feels like we are playing with RTX on — even on non-RTX GPUs. The game is very well optimized. I get 60 frames per second on my old GTX 1650 GPU laptop edition, which means yes, WWE 2K25 is well optimized.
Compared to older versions, WWE 2K25 has improved its graphics and character models. In this game, WWE characters look very natural and real.
If you are just a casual gamer who loves wrestling games, from my perspective you can play WWE 2K22 and have the same fun as you would playing WWE 2K25. Same for previous WWE versions — after 2K22 up to WWE 2K25, all feel exactly the same if you are just a casual gamer. So you don’t need to purchase the latest version.
WWE 2k24 DLC (Cm Punk)
Now this is the hot topic in WWE 2K25 — you don’t have to purchase CM Punk and a few more superstars, it’s free. But in WWE 2K24, you have to purchase the DLC which includes CM Punk.
Because lots of people want to play as CM Punk, and in the older versions of WWE, there is no CM Punk. So if you want to play, you have to purchase CM Punk from the DLC in WWE 2K24. Or you can go for WWE 2K25 and play for free — that’s a whole different story, a whole different game. My suggestion is, if you want a new storyline and CM Punk and other superstars for free, and you’re following WWE every day, you should go for WWE 2K25 — you will love it.
Other than that, for casual gamers, it doesn’t matter. Game mechanics are equally the same from WWE 2K22 till 2K25.
Older Good WWE Games (You can Try)
Back in the days when WWE Here Comes the Pain was just released, it was one of my favourite wrestling games — and yeah, till date it is still one of my favourites. So the main point is: WWE older games are actually really nice and fun to play. If you want to play, you can emulate and play on your Windows PC, or now it supports your device as well (PlayStation 2 emulator). But on PC, it works best.
Here Comes the Pain — this game’s physics were on the next level. The fighting mechanics, till date, are still the best. The sound was top-notch and there were plenty of modes.
WWE 2K11 — it was also made for PS2, but they released it on PSP as well. So if you want to play this, you can download a PSP emulator for your device or your PC. The best thing about WWE 11 was the interaction with chairs, tables, and ladders — and the characters looked really good.
WWE 12 — it’s also a good game you can try. You’ll need to download a PS3 emulator on your PC to play that. These games were developed by THQ and they did an absolutely phenomenal job — the character looks were insane for their time.

- WWE 2K19: A good game compared to other 2K series. Graphics are low, shadow issues, and it doesn’t feel fully optimized, but the gameplay is very good.
- WWE 2K22: Now this one came after COVID. They gave it different gameplay mechanics, improved graphics, good-looking superstars — and it feels almost the same as WWE 2K25.
These are the top famous WWE games which you can still try. But all these games are now discontinued, so you can download them from websites, emulate them, and play on your devices. From personal experience, I can say — these games are better than WWE 2K25.
