Every 90’s early 20s, kids plays this game this was our PlayStation back days, lots of nostalgic memories are created via playing this games, in our summer holidays hot outside and playing this game with our siblings or friends hit differently. today we will going to talk about “Top 10 Nostalgic NES Games That Defined Our Childhood”.
In this article we are talking about My personal Fav, top 10 nostalgic Nintendo games that made our and mine childhood awesome.
10.Super Mario Bros

In our First Top 10 Nostalgic NES Games That Defined Our Childhood list we have Mario , So every 90s and 2000s kid — even today’s generation — knows about Mario. But back in the day, Nintendo’s Super Mario Bros was a big thing. Even now, people still play it using emulators.
Super Mario Bros was super fun, with up to 8.4 levels, lots of mystery power-ups, and tunnels (wrap holes) that connected to other levels. And of course — the boss levels, especially the puzzle boss levels, where reaching the boss felt almost impossible. It felt like we were lost in the level.
The sky mushroom level, rocket level — there were tons of great stages in Super Mario Bros.
Today’s realistic games are nothing in front of Super Mario Bros, to be honest with you. We used to fight to play as Mario, the first player, with our siblings and friends — good old days.
9.Aladdin

Our Second Top 10 Nostalgic NES Games is Aladdin, One of the good level graphics we can talk about was Aladdin. It felt like we were playing the old Windows XP Aladdin game. This game wasn’t hard, but still felt challenging. It was a one-player game with lots of passwords that we used to write in our notebooks so we could remember each level.
There were only two main boss fights — the first one was actually tough, the sword one, and the last level. After passing each level, we got a password, and there was one bonus level where we had to collect lots of gems.
Talking about levels, one of my favorite ones was the cloud level where Genie helped us get through. I always wished we could play as other characters in Aladdin.
8.Mickey Mouse

Mickey Mouse was a really tough game. Lots of levels, lots of doors to go through — especially the third tree level. It felt like a puzzle, like we were lost in the level. One tree hole to another tree hole — it felt like we had no clue where we were going.
It looked simple, but there were lots of hidden things you could collect. I remember shooting at the wall and getting a crow — and that crow kidnapped Minnie, and bringing her back was a real task back in those days.
Even the first level felt very hard to complete. But to be honest, whoever completed the Mickey Mouse game — hats off. After level 3, it felt like we couldn’t take it anymore. It was one of the hardest games.
7.Double Dragon 2

Now this game feels like a full-on action and story game. Not too hard, but a little bit challenging. I remember we used to play it with my brothers, and completing each level felt like we were watching a movie.
There were lots of enemies, great music — and the second final boss was actually fighting our own duplicates. And of course, the last fight was absolutely cinema.
this game there are lots of move that you can do, game feels not that hard and it is really fun to play. Great story, great action. One of the coolest things was that you could actually interact with the enemies’ weapons.
6.Monster in My Pocket

Now this is also a really great game. 90% of Nintendo players have played this one. The story is okay, but it feels a little tough. A big plus point is the boss fights — we still remember the first boss, which is the ice cube or ice monster. We had to hit it with the key — and the cool part was, we got that key from level 1 and dragged it all the way into the enemy level.
There were multiple boss fights, which was really good. Lots of levels. And sometimes, the same enemies would show up again near the end of the story — we had to defeat them one by one again.
The second-to-last enemy was the same as the final boss in this game, which somehow appeared inside a television (the last enemy). I’d say the game wasn’t too hard, but the story was a bit long. Still, we used to enjoy playing it a lot.
5.Super Contra

I know many of us love Super Contra, it’s our top-tier game. But there are a lot of games that are actually just as good as Contra.
Super Contra has many parts and sequels in Nintendo — you can play Contra, Contra 3, Super Contra, etc. But I really like Super Contra, where the protagonist enters the zone by jumping out of a chopper. The game is pretty tough if you start with just three lives. But if you know the cheat code, there’s another Contra mode where you can play with maybe 30+ lives, which is pretty fun.
The annoying part was, when we used to play with our siblings — if one of us died, we’d steal each other’s lives by pressing random buttons. Good old days.
In Super Contra, I really liked the third level. The ending level, which was level five, was also great. Overall, the game was really good, entertaining, and not as hard as it looked.
4.Spider-Man Return of Sinister Six

This was the hardest game I ever played. Even when I used cheats on the emulator, I never completed this game. When I was a kid, I just couldn’t finish it — the lives were very limited in this game. You could only continue two times, I guess.
This was one of my top-tier games back in the day — around 2005. The game’s music felt really fun and intense. I don’t know why, but when I played it alone, I felt a little horror or paranoid.
After beating Mysterio, the game started to feel really hard. Even the first level enemy felt like it had infinite health — I used to keep kicking him without pressing the switch and thought, “Why does this enemy have infinite health?”
No internet, no support back in those days — we had to figure everything out on our own.
3.Adventure Island

One of the coolest games — and also pretty hard. The graphics are fun, and this game is really fun to play. Personally, it felt like I was playing Mario — even the upgraded fireball was similar to Mario’s fireballs.
I hated the skate, but it gave extra health. Still, the game itself was already slippery, and with the skate, it felt like slippery ×100.
One thing about this game — the jumping physics. You couldn’t do a long jump without running. You had to jump while running. Sometimes, it would make a really small jump, which made the character fall and die.
2.Snow Bros

This game is now available on PC — that means lots of people still love it to this day. I think it’s because the game gives us lots of power-ups, tons of levels, and big boss fights. For every Nintendo gamer, this is a top 5 game — one of them is Snow Bros.
Even my personal favorite is also Snow Bros. I remember while playing this game, it was really tough to kill the owl who turned into a tornado. And there was one mystery enemy — the Sumo, who appears and disappears. To kill him, you had to climb through an egg, reach near him, and strike really quick before he vanished.
The story is cute in this game. The enemies aren’t hard, but the levels are — especially the fire monkey and owl levels.
1.The Jungle Book

The Jungle Book is one of my top choices in NES games. I remember playing this single-player game — it felt like I was playing a PC game. The graphics look like they’re supposed to run on Super NES, but this game runs on NES.
The game is very challenging and really fun to play, with great graphics. It covers the entire Mowgli storyline. The game is a bit longer and very challenging for me. This is one of the best games I have ever played on Nintendo.
